A short documentary/love letter to my great-aunt, Yelena, about her involvement with the 1968 student riots in Paris. A combination of traditional pencil animation with digital color, stop motion, and archival footage (with emphasis on photos she took of the protests and their aftermath herself), Mai 68 is really about the layers of history (and family history) that might otherwise be forgotten to time.
